ALK Positive Canada is seeking a dedicated and strategic volunteer to serve as our Philanthropy Lead. This individual will play a key role in advancing APC's fundraising and partnership efforts as a member of the Philanthropy and Advocacy Committee.

The Philanthropy Lead will help identify, cultivate, and strengthen relationships with corporations, foundations, community organizations, and other potential funding partners. This role is essential to supporting APC's mission and ensuring the organization has the resources needed to expand its impact across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research prospective funding opportunities, including corporate sponsorships, grants, foundations, and community partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partner organizations.
  • Represent ALK Positive Canada professionally and passionately to external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Advocacy Committee to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Support the preparation of sponsorship proposals, funding applications, and partnership materials.
  • Help steward donor and sponsor relationships to encourage ongoing engagement and support.
  • Provide insights on emerging philanthropic trends and opportunities relevant to APC.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Passion for APC's mission and a commitment to improving the lives of those affected by ALK-positive cancer.
  • Strong understanding of, or willingness to quickly learn, APC's programs, priorities, and impact.
  • Experience in fundraising, sponsorship, business development, sales, nonprofit partnerships, or relationship management is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to represent APC with professionalism, credibility, and enthusiasm.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a volunteer-led environment.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 4–6 hours per month.
  • Participation in regular committee meetings, with additional time for outreach and relationship-building activities as needed.
