About CADDAC:
The Centre for ADHD Awareness, Canada (CADDAC) is a national charitable organization committed to improving the lives of individuals affected by ADHD in Canada through awareness, education, and advocacy. We offer research-based educational programs, advocate for policy changes, provide support to individuals and families, and promote collaboration among ADHD organizations.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Resource Navigator will work with families and individuals affected by ADHD to identify ADHD and mental health resources in their communities.
Many families and individuals in Canada struggle to find ADHD resources in their communities. Our goal is to help families and individuals navigate ADHD resources in their community, and provide them a better understanding of ADHD itself.

The ADHD Resource Navigator will provide support for individuals and families affected by ADHD in two areas:
  1. Emotional Support
    1. Listening to concerns, frustrations, and fears
    2. Helping families build upon their strengths.
    3. Support the development of advocacy skills.
  2. Mental health Support
    1. Locate appropriate ADHD and mental health resources in their communities such as specialists and therapy providers.
    2. Recreation programs, schools, tutors, and support groups.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide phone-based support to families and adults affected by ADHD.
  • Practice active listening and offer empathic, client-centered support.
  • Educate individuals about ADHD symptoms, challenges, and coping strategies.
  • Respond to email inquiries from the ADHD community, providing timely and helpful responses.
  • Share ADHD and mental health resources with families, individuals, and organizations.
  • Promote CADDAC’s resources to community organizations across Canada.
  • Identify and document mental health and ADHD resources within various Canadian communities.
  • Identify and address gaps in ADHD programs and services at the community level.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with mental health organizations and resources in Canada.
  • Complete required documentation and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of CADDAC to ensure client needs are met effectively.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in mental health, health, or a related field, or equivalent lived experience in mental health.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mental health or ADHD space.
  • Experience working directly with families and individuals managing mental health challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of ADHD and its comorbidities.
  • Familiarity with mental health resources in one or more provinces/territories in Canada.
  • Understanding of healthcare delivery systems in Canada.
  • Ability to build and nurture strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to provide empathetic support.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of the education system in one or more provinces/territories.
  • Bilingual (English and French ) – Nice to have

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Working Conditions:
  • Remote
  • Flexibility in working hours may be needed
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required for meetings or events.

Salary range

  • CA$25 - CA$28 per hour
