About Flemingdon Park Ministry

Flemingdon Park Ministry has served the Flemingdon Park community for over 50 years. We work primarily with refugees, newcomers, and families facing economic and social challenges. While rooted in the Anglican Diocese of Toronto, we serve individuals of all faiths and backgrounds and are widely recognized in the community as a trusted and welcoming place of support.

Position Overview

Flemingdon Park Ministry is a small, community-based nonprofit serving refugees and newcomers in the Flemingdon Park neighbourhood. We are seeking a part-time Outreach and Communications Support person to strengthen our community outreach, digital presence, and participant engagement.

This is a project-based contract role (Mach 2026–February 2027) for approximately 5–8 hours per week. There may be an opportunity for increased hours for a limited period, subject to additional funding.

The role supports existing programs and staff and focuses on building sustainable outreach and communication systems rather than direct service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Website & Digital Communications

  • Review and update website content for clarity and accessibility
  • Ensure program information is current and easy to navigate
  • Develop simple outreach materials (print and digital)

Community Outreach

  • Build and maintain relationships with local referral partners
  • Support outreach to community groups and organizations
  • Help increase awareness of Ministry programs among newcomers

Program Support & Coordination

  • Draft program announcements and updates
  • Assist with participant follow-up communications
  • Support volunteer recruitment messaging
  • Help coordinate 1–2 community information sessions Qualifications
  • Experience in community outreach, communications, or nonprofit work
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Comfortable updating website content (basic familiarity with website platforms required)
  • Organized and self-directed
  • Sensitivity to working with diverse newcomer and refugee communities
  • Experience in community-based or faith-based settings is an asset

What We Offer

  • $ 25/hour (up 10hs/week)
  • Mileage - Work-related travel will be reimbursed at $0.61 per kilometre, based on verified mileage.
