The Down Syndrome Association of Toronto (DSAT) is looking for passionate, committed volunteers to join our Sportclusive Multi-Sport Program on Sundays from September to December 2025! Our program creates inclusive, welcoming spaces where individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities can move, play, and belong.
As a volunteer, you’ll support participants through fun, accessible sports activities while building connections that truly make a difference. You’ll help participants gain confidence, develop their physical abilities, and create meaningful connections through sport.
Responsibilities:
-
Support and encourage participants with Down syndrome and other disabilities during fun, multi-sport activities (e.g., soccer, basketball, volleyball, and more).
-
Help set up equipment, guide participants through drills and games, and assist coaches to ensure everyone has a safe and inclusive experience.
- Be a friendly teammate; offer encouragement, model skills, and foster a positive, welcoming environment.
- 10-12 weeks, minimum 1 hour per week
You’ll Receive:
-
Comprehensive training tailored to coaching and communicating inclusively.
-
The resources and ongoing support needed to make your volunteer experience rewarding and effective.
-
A chance to join a passionate, community-driven team and be recognized for your efforts.
Who We’re Looking For:
-
Enthusiastic individuals aged 16+ who care about inclusion, fun, and community.
- Whether you have sports experience or are entirely new, if you’re ready to learn and lend a hand, we’d love to have you!
