Through community programs, resource navigation, food security initiatives, educational workshops, and social support services, we strive to empower individuals and families to build successful and fulfilling lives within their communities.

Position Summary

Mishka Social Services is seeking compassionate, motivated, and community-minded volunteers to support our programs serving newcomers and immigrants throughout the Niagara Region.

Whether you are a student seeking placement experience, a newcomer looking to gain Canadian volunteer experience, or someone passionate about community service, we welcome your application.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers may assist with:

  • Community outreach and newcomer engagement
  • Supporting workshops and educational programs
  • Assisting clients
  • Administrative and office support
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Volunteer recruitment and engagement activities
  • Social media and community awareness initiatives
  • Food security and community support programs

Responsibilities will be matched to each volunteer's skills, interests, and availability.

Qualifications

  • Passion for supporting diverse communities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work respectfully with people from various cultural backgrounds
  • Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
  • Additional languages are considered an asset but are not required
