We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Full-Time Mental Health Support Worker to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, organized, and passionate about helping others live meaningful, stable lives.

You will provide daily support to residents, assist with medication administration, and promote recovery-based wellness through personal support, life skills coaching, and community participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily emotional and practical support to residents, ensuring care is person-centered and recovery-focused
  • Encourage independence and self-advocacy in all aspects of daily living
  • Administer and document medications (including PRNs) according to established guidelines and CHO standards
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and resident files
  • Implement individualized support and safety plans while upholding resident dignity and rights
  • Support residents in maintaining hygiene, meal preparation, budgeting, and participation in household routines
  • Coordinate and participate in social, recreational, and wellness activities (e.g., art, outdoor walks, workshops, and community outings)
  • Assist residents with community integration and maintaining contact with family, healthcare providers, and social services
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as required, following training and safety protocols
  • Monitor home safety, assist in fire drills, and follow all infection-prevention measures (handwashing, sanitizing, etc.)
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks and maintain cleanliness of common areas
  • Communicate daily updates and collaborate with team members through our internal communication platform (Slack)

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges in residential or community settings preferred (training provided)
  • Understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care principles
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during crisis situations
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a small team environment
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification and a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license an asset
  • Additional certifications such as WHMIS, Health & Safety Awareness, CPI, or Food Handler are an asset

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Compensation: $17.60–$22.00/hour (based on experience)

Location: Caledon, Ontario
