VOLUNTEERS WANTED | Mental Health First Aid Community Booth *more immedidate

What if talking about mental health in community could feel a little more human, creative and connected?

TEAO Canada is looking for volunteers to help bring our Mental Health First Aid community booth to the Elmira Multicultural Festival on September 19. 12-6pm

This isn't about standing behind a table handing out pamphlets.

We want to create a welcoming space where people can stop, connect, express themselves, learn about mental health resources and discover more about TEAO Canada.

Volunteers will help us bring the booth to life through:

  • Face painting and creative expressions of love, joy and belonging
  • Welcoming and engaging community members
  • Sharing mental health and community resources
  • Starting approachable conversations about mental health and well-being
  • Introducing community members to TEAO Canada and our programs
  • Creating a warm, inclusive and trauma-responsive space for connection
  • Supporting activities, engagement and event coordination throughout the day

What will you gain?

This is a hands-on opportunity to build skills in community engagement, public outreach, trauma-responsive communication, mental health promotion, event support and relational connection—while experiencing how care can move beyond clinical spaces and into everyday community life.

You don't need to be a mental health professional to participate. We are looking for volunteers who are approachable, creative, dependable and comfortable connecting with people from diverse communities.

Project-based volunteer opportunity

Come help us make mental health visible, approachable and connected to community.

Sometimes care begins with a resource.

Sometimes it begins with a conversation.

And sometimes, it begins with a little face paint, joy and human connection.
