WHO YOU ARE
Reporting to the Director of Programs & Impact and based in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area, the Manager of Outreach and Partnership Development is responsible for overseeing the Anglophone Outreach Department for Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia and achieving recruitment and enrollment goals for UWW/EXP’s programs and services in those regions.
The successful candidate will generate program applicants by building and maintaining trusting, meaningful relationships with community partners, and developing and implementing outreach opportunities directly in the community.
This role is responsible for the development and implementation of UWW/EXP’s strategic and operational plan for outreach and partnership development and will oversee the marketing, administration, development, delivery, monitoring and reporting of all outreach and community engagement activities, while establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Key departmental activities include hosting and delivering virtual and in-person presentations to referral partners, attending events, and conducting outreach online, in-person, via email, and over the phone to meet our recruitment targets.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Partnership Development / UWW/EXP Value Proposition:
- Develop and maintain new and existing partnerships with referral partners, including community agencies, career development organizations, transitional living centers, shelters, drop-in centers, immigrant and health programs and centers and any other community service organizations whose clients can benefit from the services of UWW/EXP.
- Seek out new relationships by creating appointments and opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, social media tools, and other prospecting techniques.
- Ensure the execution of effective and creative follow-up efforts that result in maintaining and establishing trusting, meaningful relationships.
- Deliver informative and engaging presentations to community partners, and prospective clients virtually and/or in person and build ongoing relationships with community partner agencies and their staff.
- Network to expand the presence and positive reputation of UWW/EXP.
- Assist the UWW/EXP teams in spreading brand awareness through organizing and participating in lead generation activity including program events, job fairs, community education efforts, and marketing campaigns, and others as required.
- Plan, organize and help secure guest speakers for presentations.
- Facilitate positive relations with the program teams, other departments within UWW/EXP, and stakeholders at large.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of UWW/EXP’s suite of services and value proposition to engage new and existing client referral agency partners.
- Effectively resolve issues and respond to sensitive inquiries and concerns from referral partners.
2. Department and Project Management
- Meet key targets such as number of partnership agencies and recruitment targets.
- Develop and manage the Outreach Department budget.
- Apply project and change management skills toward the improvement of departmental excellence, and project development and delivery.
- In collaboration with the Director, Programs & Impact and the Regional Managers, plan, develop and organize the policies and procedures of the Outreach Department.
- Set and carry out priorities and recognize emergent or urgent needs to be acted on.
- Monitor implementation of program processes and policies for the purposes of high-quality service delivery and continuous quality improvement.
- Create and maintain agency records and program documents and presentations and file them in accordance with UWW/EXP’ policies and procedures.
3. Talent Management
- Direct, manage and lead a defined team of staff members.
- Devise, plan and implement staff development strategies with particular attention to the maintenance of high-performance standards, and alignment to organizational culture and values.
- Maintain performance management of team and team members with clear objectives and responsibilities for tasks and decisions.
- Provide annual performance reviews for your team.
- Recruit and onboard new staff members, volunteers, and consultants as needed.
4. Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct regular reviews of agency partnership data in our database (i.e., Salesforce), ensuring completeness and accuracy of data entered regarding agency details (e.g., names and contact info for key staff contacts, correspondence, etc.) key activities, and key metrics.
- Run reports as needed and at a minimum on a quarterly basis on key activities, key metrics and outcomes and share these reports with Director, Programs & Impact and the Regional Managers.
Other duties assigned as required.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Required:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in outreach and partnership development, and relationship-building, with a proven track record.
- Minimum of 3 years working in a management or supervisory position.
- Results-driven and demonstrated ability to meet key deliverables, metrics and outcomes by deadlines and critical time periods.
- Experience with the prospecting process and the sales/partner development cycle.
- Strong expertise in client and community service with an orientation toward innovation and collaboration.
- Exceptional oral and written skills: high degree of comfort with in-person and virtual meetings and presentations, communication by phone, in-person, or email to answer inquiries and coordinate key activities.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, adaptable, results-oriented, strategic, and logical thinker, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high level of sensitivity, resilience, relatability, and emotional intelligence with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Deep understanding of the lived experience of women and gender-diverse individuals experiencing low income and the intersecting needs and barriers of diverse groups, including new Canadians, people with disabilities, LGBTQS+, and racialized groups.
- Travel within Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia to conduct in-person presentations and attend meetings as required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce (or other CRM) and the ability to easily learn new digital tools that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Assets:
- Previous experience, exposure, or understanding of social services, employment counselling, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Lived experience of poverty and intersecting barriers.
- English/French Bilingualism.
