About IDEA Training Collaborative

IDEA Training Collaborative is dedicated to building skills, confidence, and capacity within the social services sector. We provide high-quality, accessible, and practical training to frontline staff, supervisors, and leaders, with a focus on equity, collaboration, and real-world application.

Position Overview

We are seeking dynamic and experienced Instructors to join our collaborative team. Instructors will deliver engaging training sessions in alignment with the Toronto Shelter Standards (TSS) and other specialized professional development areas.

The ideal candidate is passionate about adult education, skilled in facilitating group learning, and committed to strengthening the capacity of frontline service providers. We also welcome instructors who can bring new and innovative trainings that align with our mission and meet the needs of the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver IDEA training sessions (both in-person and virtually) to frontline staff, supervisors, and managers.
  • Create inclusive, engaging, and interactive learning environments.
  • Adapt facilitation style to diverse learner needs and contexts.
  • Collaborate with the IDEA team on curriculum updates, improvements, and development of new trainings.
  • Ensure training content aligns with Toronto Shelter Standards and organizational values.
  • Provide feedback to participants and contribute to evaluation and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in adult education, training, or facilitation (required).
  • Knowledge of social services, housing, shelter, or community support sectors (strong asset).
  • Familiarity with the Toronto Shelter Standards is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to deliver content both in-person and through online platforms (e.g., Zoom).
  • Flexible, collaborative, and responsive to participant and organizational needs.

Compensation

  • $60–$100 per hour based on experience and subject matter expertise.
  • Contract and sessional opportunities available.
