RJHO provides safe, affordable transitional housing with support for men leaving the criminal justice system for up to three years.

RJHO is committed to providing support in a non-judgmental, empowering and trauma-informed way to enhance capacity to thrive beyond an institutional environment.

RJHO seeks qualified applicants interested in providing operational support in two new locations in the Peel Halton region.

RJHO provides safe, secure, stable housing for men leaving the criminal justice system for up to three years.

Key responsibilities:

Direct case management support for residents (80%), including:

  • Assessment of suitability for residence, development with the resident of a plan for their future housing and employment and volunteer activity;
  • Creation of a supportive community environment in the residences, monthly meetings; referrals to external resources as indicated
  • Establishment of community integration opportunities, including through volunteers, prison outreach and developing relationships with community networks and partnerships;

Relief coverage for the Program Director on a scheduled and as needed basis (20%)

The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with criminal justice involved people in a not for profit residential setting
  • Social work expertise.
  • Experience working with people managing mental health issues
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
