Career Contacts has been retained by Moms Stop the Harm (MSTH) to support their search for a compassionate and highly organized Healing Hearts Coordinator to support their nationally recognized peer support program in British Columbia.

Moms Stop the Harm is a network of Canadian families impacted by substance-use-related harm and death. Through advocacy, education, and peer support, they work to create meaningful change while supporting individuals and families navigating some of life's most challenging experiences.

As the Healing Hearts Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting facilitators across Canada, helping expand access to support groups, and ensuring the program continues to grow and thrive. This is a highly collaborative position that offers meaningful work, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in communities nationwide.

Start Date: Immediately

Hours: 24 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Job Type: Part-Time, Independent Contractor

Compensation: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience

Location: British Columbia (Fully Remote)

What You'll Be Doing

As the primary point of contact for Healing Hearts facilitators, you'll help coordinate and support peer support groups operating across Canada. You'll build strong relationships with facilitators, assist with onboarding and training initiatives, support program growth, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Healing Hearts program.

Working closely with the Healing Hearts Supervisor and broader team, you'll provide administrative and operational support while helping facilitators navigate challenges, access resources, and deliver meaningful peer support experiences within their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular communication and ongoing support for Healing Hearts facilitators
  • Coordinate facilitator recruitment, interviews, onboarding, orientation, and reference checks
  • Organize training sessions, mock meetings, wellness initiatives, and ongoing learning opportunities
  • Facilitate monthly facilitator meetings and peer support sessions
  • Develop and distribute facilitator resources, educational materials, and program tools
  • Monitor facilitator wellness and identify opportunities for additional support
  • Support the expansion of Healing Hearts groups across Canada
  • Assist with outreach efforts and relationship-building with community organizations and referral partners
  • Respond to participant and facilitator inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Support program evaluation initiatives, surveys, and reporting activities
  • Assist with maintaining and updating program materials, forms, and orientation resources
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members to ensure effective program delivery

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in community support, peer support, volunteer coordination, facilitation, program coordination, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
  • Experience supporting individuals in emotionally complex or grief-related environments is considered an asset
  • Prior experience in the field of bereavement is considered an asset
  • Lived or living experience related to the loss of a child, as is lived or living experience with substance-use-related harms are strongly preferred
  • Ability to mediate conflict and build trust with diverse groups of people
  • Experience using Canva is considered a strong asset
  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends as required
