Grant Research and Writing Volunteer

This role may include researching grants, foundations, corporate giving programs, community funding opportunities, and other sources of financial support that fit the rescue’s work. You may also help track deadlines, eligibility requirements, application questions, supporting documents, and previous submissions.

On the writing side, volunteers may assist with drafting grant applications, project descriptions, impact statements, budgets, letters of intent, and other funding materials. You may also help gather information from the rescue team so applications clearly explain what we do, why the funding is needed, and how it will be used.

You do not need to be a professional grant writer. Strong writing, research, organization, and attention to detail are much more important. Experience with nonprofits, charities, fundraising, communications, or grant applications is helpful, but not required.

This position can be completed remotely and is flexible around your schedule. Some weeks may involve actively working on an application, while others may simply involve researching upcoming opportunities and keeping our funding calendar organized.

For a volunteer-run rescue, grant funding can mean the difference between having to say “we can’t afford it” and being able to provide veterinary care, food, supplies, community programs, and support for more cats in need.
