We are seeking a motivated and organized Fundraising & Grants Coordinator Volunteer to help strengthen our fundraising capacity and identify funding opportunities that support the organization's programs and long-term growth.
Position Summary
The Fundraising & Grants Coordinator will support the development and implementation of INGES Canada's fundraising and grant development activities.
The successful candidate will research potential funders, identify relevant grant opportunities, maintain a funding pipeline, support grant applications, assist with fundraising campaigns, and help develop relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to gain practical experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, sponsorship development, and nonprofit operations.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Research & Development
- Research government, foundation, corporate, and community grant opportunities aligned with INGES Canada's programs and mission.
- Monitor grant portals, funding announcements, deadlines, and eligibility requirements.
- Maintain an organized database or pipeline of prospective funding opportunities.
- Assess funding opportunities and make recommendations regarding suitability and potential.
- Support the preparation of grant applications, letters of intent, proposals, budgets, and supporting documents.
- Assist with gathering program information, statistics, outcomes, testimonials, and organizational documentation required for applications.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Support grant reporting and follow-up activities as required.
Fundraising
- Assist in developing annual and campaign-based fundraising strategies.
- Research individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other potential funding sources.
- Support the development of fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
- Help identify sponsorship opportunities for INGES Canada programs, events, and community initiatives.
- Assist with developing sponsorship packages, donor communications, fundraising materials, and campaign content.
- Research prospective corporate and community partners.
- Support donor stewardship and follow-up activities.
Prospect & Relationship Development
- Build and maintain a prospect list of potential funders, donors, sponsors, and partners.
- Conduct research on organizations and individuals to identify potential alignment with INGES Canada's work.
- Support outreach to prospective funders, sponsors, and community partners under the direction of the Executive Director.
- Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, contacts, applications, and outcomes.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with the Executive Director and program leadership to understand funding priorities and program needs.
- Collaborate with communications and program teams to develop compelling funding narratives and supporting materials.
- Help ensure fundraising activities accurately communicate INGES Canada's impact and community outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates on fundraising and grant-development activities.
Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for someone who has some combination of the following:
- Experience or education in nonprofit management, fundraising, grant writing, communications, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience with grant research or proposal writing is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and information-gathering abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising databases, grant portals, CRM systems, or project-management tools is an asset.
- Understanding of the Canadian nonprofit and charitable funding environment is an asset.

Commitment
- Approximately 5–8 hours per week
- Flexible schedule
- Primarily remote, with virtual meetings as required
- Minimum commitment of 3–6 months preferred
- Additional hours may be available during major grant or fundraising campaigns
