Pay Range: $42,000-50,000 per year

About Us

Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre is dedicated to developing the full potential of children and adults with special needs through therapy, education, horse riding, recreation, life skills programs, along with farm‑related and social activities.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Fundraising & Community Engagement Coordinator to play a key role in advancing ongoing fundraising efforts. This position is ideal for a relationship-focused fundraising professional who understands outcomes, donor engagement, stewardship, communications, and community partnerships.

The organization is currently engaged in an exciting Capital Campaign while also actively raising funds to support ongoing operations, creating a unique opportunity for a fundraising professional to help drive both initiatives.

Working closely with the Executive Director the successful candidate will help build and implement strategies that inspire philanthropy and strengthen community connections.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Lead existing operational fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Conduct prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Enhance donor-centered stewardship and engagement plans.
  • Participate in donor meetings, presentations, and campaign-related events.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and stewardship activities within the donor database.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising best practices, ethical standards, and donor confidentiality requirements.

Public Relations & Communications

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a targeted media and public relations strategy.
  • Coordinate media opportunities, interviews, and promotional activities that showcase Sunrise's impact.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, donor research, prospect research, philanthropy, or nonprofit development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and proven project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Understanding of fundraising ethics, confidentiality, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with donor databases and fundraising reporting. Experience with Donor Perfect is considered an asset.
