Funding Brokerage Coordinator (Full-time/1-Year Fixed Term)

About the Organization:

ABLE2: Support for People with Disabilities has been serving the Ottawa and Champlain region for 50 years. We believe in a community where everyone is seen as able, respected, and valued. Our programs and services empower people of all ages across the disability spectrum, and their families, to live meaningful lives as valued members of the community.

The Opportunity:

The Funding Brokerage Coordinator will work directly with people who live with disabilities (and their support network) to help them use their funds to maximize choice. The Coordinator does this by developing spending plans with the service user, assessing the service user’s needs and making recommendations, and ensuring that all funder guidelines are followed.

The Coordinator will be knowledgeable about guidelines and keep up to date with changes in funder guidelines as needed. This is to ensure that service users use their money as they choose but also within the limits established by the funders. The Coordinator will have excellent communication skills. The Coordinator must be comfortable with quickly addressing any questions a service user or funder may have, and have the skills required to adjust their communication to accommodate people who have diverse communication needs. The Coordinator understands the importance of excellent documentation and organizational skills, as they recognize that ABLE2 and the service user require accurate financial records.

The Coordinator will take an active role in learning about new community resources and the various funding sources that are available to people who live with disabilities.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and implementing service user plans and evaluations.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing individualized funding, including Passport, MCCSS individualized funds, etc.
