Director, Talent & Culture – Overview
The Director, Talent & Culture is responsible assisting with the recruitment and selection of both internal and external volunteers, as well as development of initiatives to enhance volunteer retention and our broader strategic initiatives for Talent & Culture.
This volunteer opportunity would be ideal for someone who has knowledge of consulting, either having participated in pro-bono consulting or for-profit management consulting and would like to support the recruitment for upcoming projects, most importantly for the consultant volunteer projects. This role will have direct interaction with the Executive Director as well as several members of the Executive Team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with and support the Executive Director in overseeing and implementing strategic and operational goals relating to Volunteer Recruitment & Retention
- Supporting recruitment of both volunteer Consultants and Engagement Managers
- For both internal (executive team) and external (volunteer consultants and engagement managers) positions, contributing to the development, implementation and continual enhancement of the recruitment strategy and process, which encompasses recruitment (advertising and application process), screening, interviewing, selection and project staffing.
- Collaborate with Vice-President, Consulting Operations and Director, Internal Strategy & Operations on strategic initiatives including onboarding, training, volunteer satisfaction surveys, etc.
- Responsible for tracking and maintenance of volunteer KPIs (hours donated, promotions, background information, etc.). Collaborate with Director, Impact & Reporting, where required.
- Administrative tasks regarding volunteer onboarding (e.g. set up on Microsoft Office Platform, collection of personal information, update of staff on website, etc).
- Creation and maintenance of Volunteer Role Descriptions for internal & external postings.
- Directly recruit for and manage any individuals that we bring on to support volunteer recruitment.
Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills
We are looking for professionals with at least three years of work experience. Non-profit volunteering involvement is beneficial but not required. Our team members have backgrounds in a wide array of industries including corporate strategy, investment banking, management consulting, finance, engineering, and marketing. We welcome applications from any individual seeking to broaden and supplement their work experience with a volunteer role and to gain exposure to the non-profit sector.
- Undergraduate / Masters’ degree
- Minimum three (3) years of professional experience
- Previous professional or non-profit experience in an human resources capacity
- Nice to have: Familiarity with consulting interview process (behavioral & case study interviewing methods)
- Hands on experience in strategic planning in order to identify and implement new initiatives to enhance the recruitment and retention portfolio
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience in effectively managing multidisciplinary teams or direct reports
- Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional weekend work and increased demands during recruitment cycle peaks
- Strong process management skills, including implementation and monitoring of strategic / operational KPIs
- Familiarity with basic IT/Business infrastructure (Microsoft Office Suite products)

Time Commitment
We take our voluntary commitments very seriously at Collaboration Partners in order to effectively support our clients and maximize the impact that we have on our community. Those who wish to apply should expect to commit an average of 5 hours a week to fulfil their Executive Team responsibilities, including time for analysis, execution, oversight, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
