Abbeyfield Houses Society of Ottawa is a not-for-profit seniors’ residence affiliated with Abbeyfield International, with 1,100 houses in 25 countries worldwide.

Abbeyfield House Parkdale is looking for a Director of Marketing, Fundraising & Grants. This position is responsible for fostering awareness about Abbeyfield House and promoting it as an alternative housing option for seniors - and coordinating on all grant applications and fundraising activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the President, as the primary spokesperson, and other directors as needed to raise awareness about Abbeyfield House
  • Develop and maintain promotional/fundraising materials that align with Abbeyfield national and international marketing and communication guidelines
  • Develop and maintain a social media presence for Abbeyfield House
  • Liaise with the Director of Volunteering to recruit volunteers to support/organize fundraising and promotional events, marketing & communication initiatives (newsletters, garage sales, etc.)
  • Seek opportunities to promote Abbeyfield in the community
  • Collaborate with the Board to identify projects for potential grant application
  • Identify, explore, and report on potential grant opportunities
  • Prepare and submit grant applications and track submissions throughout the process
  • Attend monthly meetings and provide a report
  • Prepare a communication plan and present to the Board
  • Obtain Board approval for all marketing, communication and fundraising materials
