Temporary, Part-Time Contract – 5–10 hrs/week

We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and secure a customized, permanent office or administrative role for a recent university graduate. The ideal outcome is a position where the graduate’s organizational, computer, and people skills are fully utilized - ideally within a workplace whose values align with social justice, equity, and community contribution. This temporary contract will conclude once the graduate has been hired and fully integrated into their workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential employers, advocating for a role that matches the graduate’s skills, education, and career aspirations.
  • Collaborate with the graduate to refine job search strategies, prepare for employer meetings, and explore opportunities in values-aligned workplaces.
  • Partner with employers to design or adapt a position that meets both organizational needs and the graduate’s strengths.
  • Support onboarding by clarifying workplace processes, fostering connections with co-workers, and ensuring inclusion is part of everyday workplace culture.
  • Provide practical guidance to supervisors and colleagues so the graduate becomes a natural part of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in customized employment, job creation, recruitment, or related fields.
  • Strong persuasive communication skills and ability to connect with employers confidently.
  • Clear understanding that inclusion is a natural element of healthy workplace culture, and confidence to communicate this with others.
  • Flexible schedule to coordinate with the graduate’s availability and meetings.
  • Comfortable working both remotely and in person; able to meet via Zoom and occasionally on-site.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check.
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with UBC or strong professional connections in the region.
  • (Optional) Comfortable in workplaces where dogs are present.

Details:

  • Part-time, 5-10 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Temporary role ending upon successful placement and onboarding of the graduate.
  • Compensation to be discussed during the hiring process.

If you have the creativity, initiative, and practical skills to connect talented people with roles where they can thrive, and the insight to make inclusion a seamless part of daily work, we encourage you to apply.
