We are Currently hiring a CTI Counsellor- Temporary – Part time position is responsible for the development, administration and evaluation of financial literacy training. The incumbent will adhere to the agency’s values and service standards as well as Just-in-time program delivery and evaluation frameworks. Using a trauma-informed and harm reduction model of program delivery, the CTI Counsellor-- Temporary – Part time will ensure that participants accessing the program are provided a warm, safe environment that fosters self-determination, healing, and growth.

The incumbent will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative, collaboration, and solutions-oriented approach in the delivery of the program. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role requires flexibility to deliver both virtual and in-person services, including sole facilitation of groups. Working within the mandated protocols you will be required to provide the following:

Key Responsibilities
▪ Provide individual and group counselling using a trauma-informed approach for women experiencing gender-based violence (GBV).
▪ Deliver client-centered support services, including referrals to community resources, financial literacy workshops, social services, and health supports.
▪ Utilize evidence-based practices such as Critical Time Intervention (CTI), Intensive Case Management, Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction.
▪ Recruit and support approximately 40 new clients annually (subject to program review).
▪ Conduct 40–50 client intakes and needs assessments per year to determine eligibility for the CTI program.
▪ Develop and implement time-limited-service plans to address systemic barriers and support clients’ transition to long-term services.
▪ Maintain accurate and timely case management documentation, client files, and program reporting records.
▪ Ensure the safety and well-being of clients by accessing the program.
▪ Advocate for clients by coordinating services and engaging with internal and external service providers.
▪ Facilitate informational sessions and at least one client supports group annually.
▪ Liaise with community partners and participate in community meetings and events representing the agency.
▪ Participate in internal and external committees and collaborate with program staff to improve service delivery.
▪ Attend agency and team meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
▪ Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information and comply with health and safety requirements.
▪ Apply gender-responsive, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approaches while complying with agency policies and procedures.
▪ Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
▪Education: Degree or diploma in Social Work, Community/Social Services, Psychology, Criminology, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
▪Experience: Minimum -5 years of direct service experience and Advanced knowledge of issues relating to women who are experiencing gender-based violence (GBV) complexity of poverty and women’s homelessness, mental health challenges, trauma, substance use, health issues, etc. Experience working with justice-involved women and marginalized groups is an asset.
•Knowledge: Strong understanding of the criminal justice system, especially as it relates to women; trauma from feminist, anti-racist, and anti-oppression perspectives; and restorative justice principles. Extensive knowledge of community resources and services available for target population.
▪Commitment: Demonstrated use of trauma-informed, feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression, and harm reduction practices.
▪Skills: Strong facilitation and client engagement skills, case documentation and management, crisis intervention, problem solving, and decision-making using appropriate communication channels.
▪Ability to work effectively in a team, build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and manage time and workload efficiently.
▪Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, maintain accurate records, and effectively problem-solve, negotiate, and resolve conflicts within complex systems.
▪Technical: Proficient in updating client information systems, Microsoft 365 suite, and virtual platforms.
▪Communication: Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
▪Availability: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both virtual and in-person settings, including court-based and community locations in Toronto.
▪Languages: Bilingual in French or other languages is an asset.
▪Travel: Ability to travel occasionally between offices and community locations as required.
Working Conditions
•Primary work location will be in person at the office located at 658 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON. This may change based on program needs. Limited travel between offices and community location may be required.
