Ready to change a life from the comfort of home?

Join ENGin as a conversation partner and be matched with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one-on-one English conversations. In just one hour a week, you can help someone build confidence, break the language barrier, and feel supported, all while discovering a new culture and making a genuine human connection.

We’ll pair you up with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one hour videochats at times that are convenient for you. During your conversations, you’ll facilitate English practice for your partner, learn about each other’s cultures, and offer an empathetic, authentic space for connection.

Program Details

• Fully remote, volunteer from anywhere

• Training and ample resources provided, with ability to customize your sessions to your/your partner's goals and preferences
• Unique, exciting social events and cultural presentations from our community

Volunteer Expectations

• English fluency (Conversational, native speakers not required)
• Strong internet connection and device with video chat capability
• Ability to commit to one hour a week for a minimum of 12 weeks
• No prior tutoring experience or knowledge of Ukrainian language needed

Who Are We?

ENGin is a US and Ukraine-based nonprofit that helps Ukrainians of all ages improve their lives through authentic English-language conversation with volunteers worldwide. Our innovative program has connected over 70,000 Ukrainians and fluent English speakers for mutually beneficial relationships at the intersection of language practice, cultural exchange, mentorship, and friendship.

Since our launch in 2020, ENGin has matched over 32,000 volunteers with Ukrainians for authentic English-language connection across borders, and we continue to grow every day. 99% of our learners report feeling they were able to break the language barrier as a participant in our program, and 79% of our participants form lasting friendships.
