Job Title: Clothing Bank Volunteer
Location: Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre, 627 Queens Quay West, Toronto , M5V 3G3
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator

Position Overview: As a Clothing Bank Volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping our organization provide clothing and essential items to those in need within the community. Your support will contribute to a welcoming and efficient environment for clients seeking assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and Organizing: Sort, fold, and organize donated clothing and accessories to ensure they are clean, presentable, and easy to access for clients.
  • Client Assistance: Help clients select clothing items, providing a positive and respectful experience during their visit.
  • Donation Processing: Accept and process incoming donations, ensuring all items meet quality standards before being displayed.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the clothing bank area, to ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other volunteers and staff to coordinate activities and improve the overall operation of the clothing bank.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in outreach efforts to promote the clothing bank and encourage donations from the community.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude toward individuals in need.
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience is a plus

Commitment: We are currently volunteering for the clothing bank on Tuesdays from 11am to 4pm. We ask for a minimum commitment of 5 hours / week .

One Tuesday is donation sorting and the other Tuesday is the Clothing Bank

-11am to 1pm : setting up / lunch

-1-3pm : sorting or clothing bank activites

3-4pm : packing up
