About The NWRCT

The Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto (NWRCT) is a community-based

organization funded by government programs and public and private donations, dedicated to

providing resources and support to Urban Indigenous Women and their families. Every year, the

NWRCT delivers culturally relevant programs and services to empower and build the collective

capacity and self-sufficiency of Indigenous Women. Through our employment, education,

housing, advocacy services, basic needs support, and healing from trauma care, we are offering

About The Role

The Client Center Support Worker is a community support role with an emphasis on

customer service. The CCSW will be directly accountable to the Program Manager or a designated

person for the execution of some of the activities described below.

What You Will Bring Along:

▪ Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Work or related field with a minimum of One (1) to two (2) years of work experience or other related, equivalent experience.

▪ Computer Savvy and working knowledge of Office equipment. ▪ Strong customer service skills with great empathy, patience, and adaptability. ▪ Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills ▪ Strong organizational and time management skills ▪ Able to network, establish, and maintain relationships with service providers. ▪ Knowledge and experience working with the LGBTQS2 community. ▪ Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and family dynamics.

Job Type: Full-Time Opportunity; Working on-Premises. Location: 191 Gerrard St E. Toronto, ON. M5A 3E5 Start Date: Immediate Wage Rate: $23.46 Hourly Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

▪ Experience working with Indigenous Peoples and Communities on the front line is an asset. ▪ Current Police Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Screening are required. ▪ First Aid/CPR certifications are an asset.

What You Will Be Doing:

▪ Welcome, direct, and provide information to clients and visitors about programs and services.

▪ Answer all incoming calls and direct them as appropriate in a professional manner. ▪ Maintain accurate and confidential sign-in and out forms/ logbook, mail, general info email

account, and message recording. ▪ Process in-house client intakes forms, volunteer forms, compliment/complaint forms, and

donation records and determine appropriate internal and external referrals. ▪ Network and maintain a contacts database of service providers, agencies, and visitors. ▪ Attend to all general Centre inquiries, and information requests through the info contact. ▪ Support programming and room sharing for activities/workshops/ceremonies. ▪ Collaborate and ensure the health and safety of main floor operations. ▪ Assist client crisis management/interventions where necessary while collaborating with

crisis support staff to de-escalate situations and/or manage emergency occurrences through cultural, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

▪ Take responsibility to increase sensitivity, awareness, and implementation of cultural teachings and organizational practices in a professional manner.

▪ Empower women to articulate their needs and goals and to advocate for themselves. ▪ Participate as a team and within the organization framework in staff meetings, professional

development opportunities, team building, and self-care. ▪ Support, collaborate, and work towards the overall aims and objectives of the NWRCT.
