Interior Community Services (ICS) is on the lookout for a strategic Central Operations Officer (COO) to translate organizational strategy into strong operational systems, accountable service delivery, and sustainable outcomes.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned operational leader who thrives in complexity and leads with clarity, integrity, and purpose. You balance big‑picture thinking with strong execution and understand how strategy translates into day‑to‑day operational systems that support meaningful community impact.

You are known for your people leadership - developing senior leaders, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and building organizational culture grounded in trust, accountability, and continuous learning. You bring a strong strategic and financial lens to your work and are comfortable representing an organization externally with funders, government partners, and community stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles, ideally within the nonprofit or social services sector
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi‑program operations within regulated service systems.
  • Strong understanding of community‑based, person‑centred services delivered under government funding frameworks.
  • Proven success leading and developing senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience overseeing quality assurance, outcomes measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong financial literacy, with experience overseeing operational budgets and partnering with finance leaders on accountability and decision‑making.
  • Experience working with funders, government, and community partners
  • A Class 5 driver’s license, a reliable vehicle with business insurance
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search, as a condition of employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive operational leadership across ICS programs and services.
  • Lead senior leaders to ensure high‑quality, compliant, person‑centred service delivery.
  • Oversee quality, outcomes, risk, and continuous improvement.
  • Support strong organizational culture, leadership development, and cross‑departmental collaboration.
  • Oversee program budgets and partner with the CFO on financial accountability.
  • Represent ICS with funders, government, and community partners
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotational basis as part of the on-call team.

Summary

Department: Senior Leadership

Location: Kamloops, BC

Status: Full-Time

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Generally, within the standard office hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility to meet the program and operational needs.

Weekend on-call responsibility on a rotational basis as part of the after-hours emergency on-call team.

Reports to: Central Executive Officer (CEO)

Compensation: $132,321–$145,290 annually with the full range up to $154,662 based on future progression.
