Job Title: Case Manager & Outreach Worker
Terms: Contract, Immediately to March 2027 (possibility of renewal), 37.5 hours weekly,occasional evening and weekend availability required
Rate: $28.35 per hour
The Case Manager and Outreach Worker report to the ProgramManager and works in co- operation with the staff of the WSN.
Major Responsibilities:
Crisis Intervention and Case Management
- Provide all WSN services from a trauma-informed, integrated feminist, anti-racist, anti-colonial, and anti-oppression framework.
- Provide sexually exploited women and youth with crisiscounselling, emotional support,and safety planning.
- Coordinate client case conferencing/management with other serviceproviders; advocacy (i.e., addiction services, legal, emergency shelter, housing, and financial support) and provide accompaniments as required.
- Co-facilitateSafe Passages pre and post groups and other supportgroups for survivors.
- On a rotational basis, perform the role of staffback-up for volunteers responding to calls on WSN’s 24-hour crisis line.
Outreach
- Design and disseminate outreach and education tools informing trafficked women, survivors of sexual violence, and community agenciesabout WSN’s case management, traumacounselling, virtual groups and Safe Passages Healing Retreat services.
- Develop both informaland formal partnerships with community groupsand agencies to support the warm transfer of sexually exploited women and youth with complex needs.
- On a rotational basis, participate in the deliveryof WSN’s bingo fundraiser in Newmarket (Sunday 3:45pm-6pm).
- Undertake special projects and other related duties consistent with the organization’s objectives, as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Theoretical and practicalunderstanding of commercial sexual exploitation and sexual violence of women and youth across diverse intersections (e.g., race, faith, sexual orientation, and gender identities)
- Minimum of 2 years related experience providing crisis support and case management to womenand youth with complex needs who have experienced sexualexploitation and sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse or incest.
- Demonstratedexperience co-facilitating groupswith survivors of sexual violenceand sexual exploitation.
- Knowledge of relevantlegislation (e.g., Childand Family ServicesAct), regional and provincial services for safety planning and referral purposes.
- Demonstratedexperience outreaching to and collaborating with community stakeholders in the anti-human trafficking or violence against women sector.
- Experience working with diverse staff,volunteers/students, and clientsfrom marginalized communities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, conflictmanagement and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstratedexperience working independently and as part of a team.
- Computer proficiency and experience completing reports and clientrelated advocacy letters (e.g., housing, and legal).
- A reliable vehicle,valid driver’s license,and insurance. Travelacross York Regionis a requirement within this position.
- Available to work onsite at WSN’soffice in Newmarket; from other organizations and community spaces in York Region; and from a private and confidential home office during remote workdays.
- An applicant with lived experience of sexual exploitation is an asset.
- A second languageother than Englishand French is an asset;Bilingualism is a strong asset.
- Related post-secondary education or equivalent educationand experience.
- Current registration with OCSWSSW, CPRO or another counselling related regulatory body is an asset.
