Centre for the Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma (CTSACT)
The Centre for the Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma (CTSACT) is seeking
dedicated, values-driven individuals to join its Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to
contribute your expertise in support of a mission grounded in providing safe, accessible, and
trauma-informed care to individuals impacted by sexual abuse and childhood trauma.
About the Board
The Board of Directors at CTSACT provides leadership and governance to guide the
organization as it continues its vital work in the community. Board members play an active role
in safeguarding the Centre’s mission by:
• Supporting short- and long-term strategic planning
• Contributing to fundraising and resource development efforts
• Fostering strong community partnerships and relationships
• Providing financial oversight and governance
• Ensuring that policies and programs align with the Centre’s trauma-informed mission
Through this stewardship, the Board supports clinicians and staff to remain focused on delivering
high-quality, ethical, and compassionate care while supporting the Centre’s long-term
sustainability.
Who We Are Looking For
We are currently seeking Board members who bring experience and/or expertise in:
• Fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement
• Finance, accounting, or financial oversight
• Legal expertise (e.g., governance, nonprofit law, risk management, or policy
development)
We are especially interested in individuals who are:
• Passionate about trauma-informed care and mental health advocacy
• Committed to equity, safety, and accessibility in service delivery
• Collaborative, thoughtful, and willing to engage in governance-level decision-making
• Interested in contributing to meaningful systems-level impact in the community
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
• Reside in the Ottawa-area or Gatineau
• Be at least 18-years of age
• Demonstrate alignment with the Centre’s mission and values
• Have relevant professional or lived experience that supports Board responsibilities
• Be able to commit time to regular Board meetings and committee work
• Be willing to contribute to fundraising and community outreach efforts
• Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and governance best practices
**Previous Board experience is an asset but not required. This position is currently hybrid
with the expectation of some in-person meetings and volunteerism.
