Seeking Candidates for Board of Directors
The Wellesley Central Residences Inc. (WCRI) is seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors starting October 2026 We are at an exciting point in our evolution, building on our successful history while exploring new opportunities to address Toronto's critical housing needs.
About WCRI
Established in 2004, WCRI operates the Tony Di Pede Residence, an innovative 112-unit supportive housing complex in downtown Toronto. Our building brings together seniors and people living with HIV/AIDS in a unique model that promotes dignity, inclusion and community.
Through our partnerships with Fife House Foundation and WoodGreen Community Services, we provide comprehensive support services including 24-hour personal support and homemaking services, case management, wellness programs, community programming, and social activities. Our property management services and transitional housing support ensure residents receive comprehensive care in a supportive environment.
The building features amenities such as a rooftop healing garden, community kitchen, wellness centre, and communal spaces that foster connection and belonging among residents.
Our Legacy
WCRI emerged from the legacy of the Wellesley Central Hospital, carrying forward its motto "Jamais sans esperance" (never without hope) and its commitment to health equity, social justice, and community involvement. We demonstrate how innovative partnerships can create sustainable supportive housing solutions that transform lives and communities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Board members serve 3-year terms, with the possibility of renewal for a second term. We seek candidates with expertise in areas such as housing development, property management, finance, accounting, fundraising, healthcare administration, supportive services, community engagement, advocacy, strategic planning, organizational development, legal expertise, governance, risk management, and government relations.

As WCRI explores opportunities to expand our impact as a catalyst for new housing partnerships, we particularly welcome candidates who can contribute to developing innovative funding models for supportive housing, building strategic partnerships, advancing equity and inclusion, strengthening community engagement, and enhancing program evaluation and impact measurement.
