Help Shape the Future of Women’s Service in Toronto

Street Haven at the Crossroads is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of directors and help guide the continued growth and impact of our organization. The board meets virtually four times a year, in addition to standing committee meetings including Finance and Real Estate. Joining the Street Haven Board is an opportunity to use your professional expertise, leadership, and community perspective to make a meaningful difference.

For more than 60years, Street haven has been providing services to women and individuals who identify as women across Toronto, including shelter services, supportive housing, training, employment supports, and mental health and addictions services. Our work is grounded in Safety, Dignity, and Hope, and we are committed to creating meaningful pathways toward stability, independence, and well-being for the women and communities we serve.

We are looking for experienced professionals who are passionate about our mission and can contribute strategic expertise, governance leadership and community connections as we continue to evolve and strengthen our organization.

About Street Haven at the Crossroads

Established in 1965, Street Haven in one of Toronto’s longstanding organizations serving women experiencing vulnerability and housing instability. We provide a range of services designed to meet people where they are, including shelter, supportive housing, emergency accommodation, training supports, mental health and addictions services, and employment related supports. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Areas of Expertise We Are Seeking

We are particularly interested in candidates with professional experience or strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Finance & Accounting
• Legal
• Real Estate
• Shelter & Housing
• Social Services
• Experience working within the not-for-profit, charitable or community-service sectors is considered an asset.

• Able to dedicate the time and attention required to participate meaningfully as a Board Director.
