Bilingual Loan Officer & Facilitator

Full-Time | Ottawa, ON | Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000 per year

About Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF)

At the Ottawa Community Loan Fund, we empower individuals through financial literacy education, personalized guidance, and access to fair financing. We assist newcomers, professionals, and entrepreneurs throughout Ottawa in building financial confidence, navigating credential recognition, or exploring opportunities to start or grow small businesses.

About the Role

We are seeking a bilingual (English/French) Loan Officer & Facilitator who is passionate about driving success for both our clients and our organization. This role requires a proactive and highly organized professional who takes full ownership of their work.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end client journey. This includes independently managing a portfolio of clients, guiding them through our process, and proactively solving problems. It also involves facilitating financial literacy workshops and creating and executing engaging client-facing events to support their success.

This position is part of the broader Credential Recognition Program (CRP) team, which works closely with several community partners to support newcomers and internationally educated professionals.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the end-to-end client relationship within the scope of our programs. You will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, responsible for understanding their goals, guiding them through our process, and proactively solving problems to keep them on track.
  • Organize and execute key client events. You will manage all aspects from planning and partner coordination to promotion and day-of logistics to ensure success.
  • Oversee the CRP financial literacy workshop program. This includes managing the delivery calendar, coordinating data collection, and facilitating workshops in English and French.
  • Manage all communications with clients in arrears, taking ownership of the process to find repayment solutions.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely records of all client activity and outcomes in our database.
  • Represent OCLF at community and partner events to promote our programs.

What You Bring

  • Bilingual (English/French) – verbal and written
  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field
  • A high degree of personal accountability. You have a proven track record of taking full ownership of tasks, solving problems, and getting things across the finish line
  • Exceptional organizational skills. You can work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines without close supervision
  • Strong critical thinking. You can identify client challenges or process gaps and proactively propose solutions
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You are comfortable connecting with clients, partners, and colleagues from all backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience organizing and managing events
  • Experience in the non-profit sector and a desire to develop towards leadership roles, contributing to your community, is an asset
  • Experience with lending, small business plans and cash-flow projections is a strong asset

Working Conditions

  • In-office 3 days per week at OCLF’s Ottawa office (2211 Riverside Drive)
  • Some evenings and weekends are required for client appointments and community events
  • Hybrid flexibility for remote work when appropriate.

Eligibility

Applicants must be legally permitted to work in Canada and live in the Ottawa area to meet the in-person office requirement.
