ABOUT RECOVERY WITHOUT BORDERS (RWOB)

Recovery Without Borders (RWOB) is a global, peer-led recovery ecosystem anchored in Toronto and expanding internationally. We connect mental health support, substance use care, peer community, work pathways, and housing into one coordinated model—so no one is left without a practical next step.

While RWOB is not a standalone treatment center or rehab facility, we empower our community through accessible, dignity-centered recovery support for every stage of the journey. Our platform provides free community resources, interactive events, peer support circles, and online therapy pathways, all connected 24/7 by our free digital and AI support app (OpenRecovery & Kai AI).

ROLE SUMMARY & OPPORTUNITY

Looking to give back and support mental health and recovery initiatives, but need complete flexibility around your busy schedule?

As an Auxiliary Volunteer, you form the task-execution backbone of Recovery Without Borders. Instead of committing to fixed daily schedules or ongoing administrative management, Auxiliary Volunteers claim standalone 30-to-90 minute micro-task tickets based on their personal interests, skills, and weekly availability.

Whether you have an extra 45 minutes on a Tuesday evening or a couple of hours on a weekend, you can pick up micro-tasks that directly support our programs, weekly city forums, newcomer art therapy workshops, and major public activations like Toronto’s City-Wide Recovery Day on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Mel Lastman Square.

HOW THE MICRO-TASK PROCESS WORKS

Autonomous & Flexible Execution

  1. Weekly Ticket Release: Micro-task tickets are posted every Monday in our RWOB Volunteer WhatsApp channel and CRM task board.
  2. Claiming & Independent Execution: You review the board and claim the specific ticket that matches your skills and schedule to work on independently.
  3. Quick Manager Review: Once complete, you submit your work for a quick review and approval by the respective Department Lead.
