About the Event

GLAM AS YOU ARE™ is a design-forward, immersive cocktail fundraiser supporting the Daisy Baby Foundation’s fertility grant for LGBTQIA+ families-in-waiting. In partnership with Grand River Pride, the event brings together creativity, community, and purpose — transforming a blank space into something unforgettable.

Before the lights, music, speeches, and sparkle — we build the world guests will step into. The Set-Up Crew brings the vision to life.

Volunteer Role Available

✨ Set-Up Crew (6–8 people)

The Role
Before the magic begins, the stage must be built. As part of the Set-Up Crew, you’ll help transform an empty venue into a fully realized, immersive experience. From placing décor and signage to assisting with layouts, activations, and equipment, you’ll support the hands-on side of making GLAM AS YOU ARE™ look and feel incredible.

This role is physical, collaborative, and ideal for anyone who loves contributing to the behind-the-scenes transformation.

What You’ll Do

Support load-in and assist with placing rentals, signage, décor, and activation elements

Follow placement plans and layout maps provided by coordinators and activation leads

Tidy and prep high-touch areas such as check-in, lounges, stage zones, and activations

Assist partners and vendors with setup needs or small fixes

Help ensure the entire venue feels polished, intentional, and aligned with the event’s aesthetic

You’re Perfect If
You enjoy physical tasks and don’t mind lifting, adjusting, or climbing a ladder. You follow checklists well, work efficiently, and bring upbeat energy even during time-sensitive moments. If you love seeing a space come to life — this is your zone.

Bonus Points For

Experience with event setup, pop-ups, retail installs, or décor placement

Comfort with basic tools, zip ties, command hooks, or light equipment

A collaborative spirit and ability to follow placement plans with care
