
Marketing/Social Media Coordinator
The Nanaimo Community Hospice is a registered non-profit society that supports an interdisciplinary team approach to the provision of compassionate care and support to the dying, their caregivers, and the bereaved of all ages in our community. All programs are free and contribute significantly to the health and strength of our community. Each year Hospice staff and volunteers provide direct support to over 1,700 individuals facing end of life issues in their homes, in hospital, in care facilities, and through programs offered at Hospice House. Hospice volunteers working with those facing end of life issues contribute over 28,000 hours annually.
Reporting to the Fund Development Officer, the Marketing/Social Media Coordinator contributes to strategic organizational goals by supporting, coordinating, and executing marketing and social media initiatives, hospice events and fund raising projects.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
● Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing/social media, with a proven track record of successful marketing projects and events and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Marketing / Social Media degree/diploma or in the final process is an asset.
Utilize SEO best practices to improve organic search visibility and drive traffic to our content.
● Experience with Keela or similar donor database systems is an asset.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities:
● Proven experience in creating successful marketing programs and social media programs.
● Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
● Ability to write compelling campaigns.
● Highly organized, goal-oriented, and detail-focused with excellent follow-through.
● Skilled at writing concise, and compelling proposals and reports.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media applications and CRM database systems an asset.
● Self-motivated, reliable, and skilled at managing multiple priorities.
● Optimistic, people-focused, and energetic with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
● High regard for privacy and confidentiality of business information.
Working Conditions Shifts:
Part time – 2-3 days a week Monday to Friday. 9:00am to 4:00pm, 21 hours per week.
Benefits:
- Vacation is accrued at a rate of 4% or in accordance with your length of service as per the policy manual (Policy 2.8).
- Eligible for a shared employer/employee comprehensive benefits plan, including health and dental coverage, after completion of probationary period with minimum of 21 hours per week.
