
Finance Committee Chair
Overview:
We are seeking a Finance Committee Chair with strong expertise in bookkeeping, nonprofit accounting, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will provide strategic financial oversight, help maintain transparent fiscal management, and ensure compliance with nonprofit reporting standards.
Responsibilities:
Oversee preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements.
Lead budget development and forecasting processes.
Ensure adherence to nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.
Coordinate with the Treasurer, Executive Director, and auditors to maintain accurate records.
Guide financial decision-making for sustainability and growth.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping or accounting (QuickBooks or equivalent preferred).
Deep understanding of nonprofit finance, IRS Form 990 compliance, and restricted/unrestricted fund management.
Strong budgeting, reporting, and analytical skills.
Prior board or committee leadership experience is an asset.
Commitment:
Attend quarterly finance meetings and periodic board sessions.
Estimated time commitment: 6–8 hours per month.
