Position Overview

The Development and Communications Manager will develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives while managing comprehensive communications programs and marketing initiatives. This impactful role requires expertise in both traditional methodologies and contemporary digital communications strategies, coupled with a deep understanding of the sensitive nature of supporting those touched by cancer.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic development and execution of annual fundraising plan
  • Management of donor relations and stewardship programs
  • Production of professional video content and marketing materials
  • Development and submission of grant proposals
  • Implementation of digital engagement strategies
  • Coordination of signature events and campaigns in collaboration with the Events & Volunteer Manager
  • Supervision of database management and donor records
  • Cultivation of relationships with members, donors, and all stakeholders with empathy and understanding

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Fundraising, Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management or related field.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising
  • Demonstrated success in donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Proven expertise in video production and editing
  • Advanced proficiency in digital marketing
  • Experience with donor management systems and databases
  • Familiar with the Simcoe Muskoka region
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication

Technical Competencies

  • Digital design platform expertise (Canva, Hootsuite, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Content management system experience
  • Database management capability
