Cota – Board Recruitment.

COTA Health (Cota) is an accredited non-profit provider of community-based supports and services for people living with mental health and cognitive challenges. More information about Cota can be found on our website at https://cotainspires.ca/.

We are presently seeking candidates who are interested in standing for election to become Directors at our upcoming Annual Meeting in June 2026. Directors volunteer their time and play a vital role in shaping Cota’s strategic direction, ensuring public accountability, and providing ongoing governance to the organization.

As Cota continues to operate in a complex and evolving health, housing, and funding environment, the Board is seeking Directors who can contribute thoughtful judgment, sector insight, and strategic perspective in support of the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Directors are appointed for an initial two-year term and are eligible for reappointment for up to two additional terms. As such, we are seeking individuals who feel they can commit to serve for up to six consecutive years. Directors are expected to prepare for and attend Board meetings and actively contribute to Board discussions and committee work.

At this time, we are specifically encouraging individuals to apply who have relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance / Accounting, including experience supporting financial oversight and sustainability in not-for-profit or public-interest settings.
  • Affordable / Supportive Housing Development, including experience with housing projects, partnerships, or system-level housing initiatives.
  • Quality Improvement and Risk Management, including experience improving service quality, outcomes, or organizational performance.
  • Health and/or Social Service Sector Integrations, including experience working across organizations, partnerships, or integrated service models.

Directors will contribute to the stewardship of a respected community organization while working collaboratively with a committed and engaged Board, and supporting the continued advancement of a progressive and mission-driven agency.
