ANHBC is seeking a Strategic Childcare Steward to guide and support the growth, coordination, and innovation of our childcare programs across the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director responsible for childcare, this key role acts as a central resource for childcare directors and coordinators, supporting strategic alignment, system improvements, and cross-house collaboration. Responsibilities
• Serve as a liaison and convener for childcare teams, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices across all ANHBC houses.
• Lead and/or support the leadership of strategic initiatives, including Municipal RFEOI submissions, $10/Day applications, and implementation of Building on Strengths (BOS) childcare recommendations.
• Manage Provincial government childcare contracts ie: CCOF, enrollment reporting, system updates, and provide guidance on operational and regulatory issues.
• Support Provincial contracts ie: TDAD in consultation with houses including application, reporting and compliance
• In consultation with childcare Directors and ED’s, monitor developments in the universal childcare system, assess organizational impact, and support directors and EDs in implementing consistent, effective approaches across ANHBC.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of three years of hands-on managerial experience working in licensed childcare operations in BC; familiar with all aspects of childcare operations, including direct service, as well as financial and human resources management
• Post-secondary degree in in a relevant discipline (e.g. child and youth care, human services), or a diploma in ECE, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Knowledge and experience of working with various government entities, including Ministry of Education and Child Care, municipalities, public health agencies; familiar with licensing, reporting and all other requirements for new and existing licensed and universal childcare facilities;
• Experience working in a large and complex organization; direct and recent experience in charitable and/or non-profit sector is considered a great asset
• Experience in project and change management; track record of following through and delivering project outcomes on time and on budget
• Organized and detail oriented; ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities and tight deadlines
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and to collaborate with others
• Experience in program evaluation; knowledge of outcomes measurement/ logic models is preferred.
• Experience working with online systems, platforms and tools, as well as all key Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people, including BIPOC, LGBTQ2+ and people with different abilities to foster an inclusive workplace

Hours & Location: This is a regular full-time position (35 hours per week, 5-day workweek) may include some evenings and weekends.
