About the Event

GLAM AS YOU ARE™ is a design-forward, community-centered cocktail fundraiser supporting the Daisy Baby Foundation’s fertility grant for LGBTQIA+ families-in-waiting. In collaboration with Grand River Pride, the event prioritizes belonging, joy, and true access — ensuring that every body, brain, and identity is welcomed with dignity.

Accessibility Support Volunteers play an essential role in transforming access from a value into lived practice.

Volunteer Role Available

✨ Accessibility Support Volunteer (3–4 people)

The Role
Accessibility isn’t an add-on - it’s core to how we host. As an Accessibility Support Volunteer, you’ll help ensure guests with physical, sensory, or communication needs can navigate the event comfortably and confidently. You’ll work closely with the Sensory Lounge, Guest Experience, and Floor Host teams to make sure access is continuous, thoughtful, and responsive.

Your presence helps ensure that no one experiences barriers to the magic of the night.

What You’ll Do

-Support guests who request day-of accessibility accommodations

-Assist guests with wayfinding, including accessible seating and pathways

-Distribute or explain accessibility tools and signage (earplugs, sensory maps, etc.)

-Communicate clearly, slowly, and calmly with guests who need additional time or support

-Flag accessibility gaps and help the team troubleshoot solutions in real time

You’re Perfect If
You’re attentive, grounded, and passionate about inclusive spaces. You may have lived experience with disability, chronic illness, neurodivergence, or you’ve worked or volunteered in environments where access and care mattered deeply. You understand the nuances of offering support respectfully and without assumption.

Bonus Points For

Experience in disability justice, caregiving, support work, or accessibility advocacy

Familiarity with physical, sensory, or communication access needs

Comfort interacting with guests who communicate in a variety of ways
