Employment Counsellor/Job Developer/Marketer
We have a Permanent full-time Employment Counsellor position in the PACT program. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Employment Services, the incumbent is responsible for the operation of the Employment Assistance Program, including employment counselling, job search training and facilitation of client job placement. The individual in this position is expected to understand the principles of psychiatric rehabilitation and employment counselling, and the philosophy, functions, policies, and goals of the Employment Assistance Program.
Required Qualifications:
A University degree in social services or social work, diploma and equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. At least two years work experience in social, health or related fields. Knowledge of community and psychiatric resources and services. Valid BC Class 4 drivers licence, Residential Emergency First Aid certificate, Acceptable to Coast criminal record check, Medical and Tuberculosis clearance required.
You will:

Market our employment program to increase our program profile in the community.

Develop relationships with the business community and appropriate marketing strategies for soliciting new employment opportunities for program participants;

Develop marketing strategies to match clients with suitable employers; in conjunction with case managers.

Provide employer education on accommodation and best practices for hiring persons with a mental illness.
Hours of Work: (subject to change)
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary Range:
$20.11 $20.69 $21.26 $21.83
