Organization Profile:  The Career Foundation offers a wide range of career and job related programs.  Since its inception in 1988, The Career Foundation has steadily expanded its services.  Operating out of various locations, it now serves a flow of over 50 thousand unemployed people each year.  The Career Foundation receives funding from Employment Ontario, Service Canada, Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) and private sector companies.

The Career Foundation currently has a vacancy at its Employment Assessment Centres.

 

Location:                   Central Toronto Employment Assessment Centre

Reporting to:            Program Manager

Duties/ Responsibilities:

 

-          Utilizing the Common Assessment Methodology to assess clients’ needs and assist them in developing a Return To Work Action Plan

-          Managing a caseload of hundreds of clients annually ensuring that written documentation for each file is consistently up to date

-          Assisting clients with various components of the application process for training

-          Developing and maintaining knowledge of current labour market trends/ consistently keeping oneself up to date on the latest information

-          Keeping up to date on referral sources by liaising with Community Partners

-          Some marketing to clients may be required

-          Other duties as required

 

Requirements/ Qualifications:

 

-          University Degree in Social Services or related field

-          Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills

-          Ability to deal with the most challenging (and often undeliverable) requests from clients with tact and diplomacy

-          Customer service oriented

-          Advanced problem solving skills

-          Superior organizational skills

-          Excellent written and oral communication skills

-          Good time management skills with the ability to multi-task

-          Excellent stress management skills

-          Flexible with a strong work ethic – willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the continued success of the program

-          Experience utilizing The Common Assessment method an asset

-          Experience with The Contact IV Computer Program an asset
