$1,277.10 - $1,482.13 semi-monthly
(Class 4)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop employer partnerships to secure and monitor employment for clients.
2. Advise employers on human resource and other employment-related issues related to placed clients.
3. Develop and maintain an employer database and history of program’s relationship with them
4. Effectively market potential employees and other services Employment & Training Services can provide the employer.
5. Maintain active client caseload, meeting as needed to provide support, coordinate services, and make referrals as required to aid clients in developing in their employment situations.
6. Work with clients to identify barriers to employment and assist clients to develop job-readiness skills, job-search strategies, and job-retention skills (including writing resumes, mock interviews and facilitate life skills workshops)
7. Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background and to establish goals.
8. Provide travel/ route mobility training and job coaching to clients as required.
9. Accurately maintain statistical information, client case files and employer database, and provide reports to Director-Employment & Training Services as required.
10. Actively participate in Case Management and E&TS Staff Team meetings as requested.
11. Report accurate records of attendance and client participation to the Employment & Training Services Manager.
12. Adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality.
13. Other duties as required to ensure the continuation of service to clients.
14. Ensure Mission Services workplace health and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times; conduct planned and unplanned inspections of the workplace; conduct accident investigations; monitor all health and safety reports and act to reduce workplace hazards. Enforce health and safety rules and procedures for staff under their employ. Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resources or business, or equivalent experience.
2. Preferred minimum 3 years related experience in career development and working with adults with significant barriers to employment, including mental health issues.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of business and employer related needs and issues, and current labour market information.
4. Ability to market the program, liaising with staff of various services in the community.
5. Demonstrated understanding of issues relevant to adults with barriers to employment including mental health issues.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of social assistance, poverty related issues, and community resources.
7. Proven interpersonal skills as an enthusiastic team member.
8. Good understanding of business operations.
9. Proven verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
10. Proven professional presentation skills in small and large groups.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office software environments, including use of Internet, e-mail, and programs such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
12. Valid Ontario driver’s license with good driving record (driver extract may be requested for review at any time).
