Staff or board members who are also clients of the organization they serve
Should a staff member receive service from the agency they work for? This
question was raised with me recently and my initial response was 'no'. We would
refer to our collegial agency adjacent to where we are, and then I suggested
comanaging the case. I felt that given we are a small agency, that any
staff member would have more intimate knowledge of the volunteers and staff
and that it could potentially cause conflicts.
