Mentoring young nonprofit professionals
Is mentoring the best way to prepare emerging professionals for a career in the nonprofit sector?
How else are we going to improve the quality of staff within the organizations that we support?
It is at this level that we (as professionals) can see the commitment to the cause. If the person has the get up and go, but then the glow dies off, maybe this is not the right career for them.

I believe that your question is misleading, because the answer is, in my view, that mentoring is only one very important component, not the sole component in preparing individuals for any career. A good mentoring opportunity allows the individual to know and understand themselves within the larger context of their learning/training.
