The concept of work in the voluntary sector
It is an interesting concept, that of 'work', most particularly
in the volunteer sector. The perception of 'work' in the mainstream is often
only equated to that of a 'title', whether it be clerk or vice president.
So, the question is this: if a person 'works' as a volunteer, independent
of an official organization, is that considered work? Is it less effective
or more effective? If so, how many hours? If asked, where do you 'work', what
would your answer be?
