The issue of rising insurance premiums for nonprofits
Why not organize a large purchase of insurance by pooling the risk
and costs? This is a form of bulk purchase that could be explored. An organization
such as United Way could do this on behalf of nonprofits in the communities
where they operate (and even where they do not) and co-ordinate this insurance
pooling and purchase. The savings generated from the bulk purchase of insurance
would be just as effective as raising funds for the organizations.
