Judi AngelJudi Angel's contributions to the non-profit sector now span a quarter of a century. She is part of a select group of Canadian Fellows of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP), the highest level of accreditation in fundraising

When Judi established her fundraising consulting business, Angel and Associates, in 1992 her goal was always simple - to help non-profits achieve their missions through raising more money. She saw her role as coach, mentor, encourager, strategist and trainer. Judi has served a broad range of clients from the Nature Conservancy of Canada to Literacy BC. See below for a more complete list.

Before establishing Angel and Associates, Judi was BC Children's Hospital Foundation first major gifts director, and prior to that, director of development & community relations for BC Rehab. She spent 6 years leading the fundraising and PR for the community hospital in Burlington, Ontario where she helped grow the foundation's assets from $500,000 to over $10 million.

From '94 to '98, Judi held the position as executive director of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. She guided the organization through its early development to the establishment of Canada's first AIDS Day Centre.

Judi is an accomplished adult trainer and facilitator who has worked extensively with both boards of directors and fund raising professionals. She has taught the Association of Fundraising Professionals 'First Course'. Judi was an inaugural instructor in the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Fundraising Management Certificate Program. She also served on BCIT's Community Advisory Group. She created and taught BCIT's first online introductory fundraising course.

A lifelong learner, Ms. Angel holds the globally recognized UBC Certificate in Internet Marketing. As a Certified Internet Marketing and Business Strategist (CIMBS), she combines a strong grounding in the non-profit sector with her understanding of strategic marketing and communications on the Internet.

Judi has been President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Vancouver, served on a number of voluntary boards, written for journals, and spoken at professional conferences. She is Past President of the Women's Endowment Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Vancouver, and served for seven years on the board of Jewish Family Service Agency.

When she's not immersed in the non-profit world, Judi enjoys travel, and striving to keep up with her adult family. She believes that golf is a metaphor for the game of life and spends lots of time trying to prove this theory. .

Judi and her husband, Colin Mallet, have been fortunate to have two volunteer experiences in Africa. In 2003, they spent four months in Uganda, and in 2006, had another 4-month stint in Ghana. In each case, her volunteer assignment was to help enhance the fundraising capacity of locally-based non-governmental organizations.

Judi explains that when she's writing courses at her computer, she imagines Campus learners on the other side of her screen. Since she can't be there with each of them personally, she pulls out all the stops to make their learning experience totally-engaging, fun and information-packed. From our course evaluations, it looks like she's succeeding.
