Age Is applicant of legal working age in B.C.? Requests for birth certificates or information about age in general. An applicant's age may be asked after hiring for purposes of benefits and insurance plans.

Is applicant legally entitled to work in Canada? Whether Canadian born; birthplace, nationality of applicant or of relatives or spouse. All persons legally entitled to work in Canada must be given equal employment opportunity unless there is a legal restriction stating otherwise.

Summary
Conviction
All inquiries about criminal or summary convictions are discouraged unless related to job duties. If bonding is required, ask applicant if eligible to be bonded. Requests for statement of criminal and/or arrest record.  
Education Educational requirements should be related to job duties.    
Mental

Physical
Disability
Applicants may be asked job related questions concerning ability to perform essential components of the job. Requests for a general statement of disabilities, limitations or health problems. An applicant's disability is relevant to the job only if it prevents that person from effectively carrying out the essential components of the job.
Political
Belief
  Requests for statements of political belief or philosophy.  
Religious Belief Applicants may be asked job related questions, such as whether they are available for work at the required time. Requests for statement of religious affiliation, religious belief and church membership. Employers must make reasonable efforts to accommodate the religious needs of employees.
Sex,
Marital
Status
Applicants may be asked if they are willing to travel or relocate only if job mobility is required. An applicant's sex; information regrading pregnancy, child-care arrangements, or childbearing plans; or if applicant is single, married, divorced, engaged, separated, widowed or living common law. Information regarding spouse, children and/or dependents required for benefit and insurance plans may be obtained after hiring.
