What happened to my Search Alerts!?

We made some changes to our Career Centre, Volunteer Bulletin Board and Coming Events on the weekend of August 15-16.

If you have Search Alerts from Aug 16 or earlier, the links are still pointing to the old site, so you'll automatically be redirected to the new Career Centre main page.

Your next Search Alerts wil take you directly to listings on the new site, just the way they did on the old one.

Here's what you should do in the meantime:

1. Login to your new Desk page and make sure that Email Alerts are "On".

2. Review your alert settings. We added several new search options and criteria so you may want to alter your settings. We have full instructions here.

If you really want to access the listings from your previous alert messages, here are a couple of options to do so:

Option 1.
- Go to the new job search form (opens in new window)

- Copy/Paste the job title from the alert (e.g. "Finance Controller") into the "Keyword" box and check "Search title only". This will get you to the listing quite quickly (it might pull up multiple listings though, depending on how many listings with that exact title exist)

Option 2:
- Open any job listing on the new site.

The URL in your web browser window should look like this:
http://www.charityvillage.com/cvnet/viewlisting.aspx?id=140126

The old URL in the Search Alert will look like this:
http://www.charityvillage.com/applicant/jobs.asp?fn=view&g_varid=140126

Just copy/paste the numbers from the old link (e.g. 140126) into the new URL (see how they both end in 140126 now). That will take you directly to the new listing.

We apologize for the one-day hiccup in connecting you with your search alerts. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow and your Alerts will take you directly to the listings detail page, just as they always have.
