Q: Why are pages bundled and packaged?
A: There are 40+ banner-enabled pages on prime areas of our website
that are appropriately grouped into two packages. In some cases, this allows us to deliver a higher
number of impressions than would be possible with stand-alone pages, as
well as help you target specific segments of our audience.
Q: I'm almost positive I want to advertise,
but not 100% ready to book. Can I still reserve space, and do I have the
right of first refusal?
A: We cannot reserve your space without a 100% commitment, nor
can we offer clients the right of first refusal. At any one time, several
suppliers may be considering the same ad location and time slot. In some
locations on the site we can to run banner ads campaigns concurrently,
but we do place limitations on the number of banners displayed at each
location. All banner ad positions are offered on a first-come/first-serve
basis.
Q: I'm ready to book my campaign. What's the
next step?
A: Select a specific package(s) and decide which month(s) to run
the ad. Contact Steven Wright at (416) 574-2480, or e-mail: steven@charityvillage.com
to review availability. She will then prepare an insertion order which
confirms the campaigns start date, banner ad locations, fees and
any applicable taxes. This form requires your signature. Once we receive
this signed form back from you along with payment, your ad space is reserved.
An invoice will be mailed to you.
Q: Is there a minimum or maximum duration for
banner ads?
A: All campaigns have a one-month minimum period. Clients who prefer
to purchase their campaign on a straight CPM basis should contact Steven Wright at (416) 574-2480, or e-mail: steven@charityvillage.com.
Q: How do I pay for my banner? Do you accept
credit cards?
A: Banner ads are invoiced when the order is placed. Campaigns must be paid in advance and may be paid with credit card or cheque. Subject to approval,
exceptions are made for high volume campaigns that are booked months in
advance. Goods and Services Tax (GST) applies to Canadian advertisers
only.
Please mail payment (cheque, bank draft or money order, payable to "CharityVillage
Ltd.") and the signed insertion order to: P.O. Box 41559, 230 Sandalwood Pkwy East, Brampton, Ontario, L6Z 4R1. Please contact Steven Wright at (416) 574-2480 if you would like to courier the cheque and
insertion order.
Q: What kind of reporting will I receive once
the campaign is complete?
A: A full banner impression report is mailed to every client upon
completion of their campaign, outlining the location of the ad, its start
date, end date and the total number of impressions received. CharityVillage
does not track "click-throughs" on banners ad hosted on the
site and it is the responsibility of the advertiser to track incoming
traffic from their site. There are various ways for you to do this and
your Internet Service Provider or technical staff can advise you on that.
If possible, we strongly recommend you obtain access to your sites
traffic patterns before, during and after the campaign. This allows you
to assess the campaigns impact on your website traffic.
Q: What if my website goes down during the campaign?
A: CharityVillage cannot accept responsibility for any clients
website that is down. If our advertising schedule allows it, we will attempt
to help you make up for lost time, provided the period of down time is
significant enough to warrant an extension of the campaign.
Q: I do have a website, but I dont have a
banner.
A: We are pleased to accept banner ads created by advertising clients,
design houses or advertising agencies and we recommend that you have a
professional create your banner ad for you. Dont be discouraged
if you dont have access to a designer; CharityVillage provides creative
services too.
Q: I already have a banner ready/I have access
to a web developer to create my ad. What are the ad specifications and
to whom should I send the ad?
A: Our standard banner ad dimensions are 468 pixels wide by 60
pixels high. Please conform to this specification. We will not be responsible
for the graphic distortion that may result when a banner created to a
different specification is displayed at this size. We do not accept flash
format or rich media banners formats. The banner ad graphic must be in
either GIF or JPEG format, and should not require more than 20k (kilobytes)
of memory. Exceeding this maximum will result in slow downloads that are
counterproductive for both the advertiser and the host site. We reserve
the right to reject a banner ad that is large enough to affect the download
performance of the page on which it is mounted. Banner ad GIF or JPEG
files may be sent as attachments to an e-mail message. Please use the
.GIF or .jpeg filename extension. All finished banner ads must be e-mailed
to maggie@charityvillage.com
no less than 7 days in advance of the scheduled mounting date.
On a final note, as a service to you, we will review your site prior to
ads running live. We do this to ensure the link is functioning and if
we feel it's appropriate, we will suggest minor changes or modifications
as a way to help you maximize your results.
