Meet Nick Yeo
Nick Yeo is a self-styled global nomad, having lived his teenage years in Canada, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. His internationalist upbringing has mentally prepared him for today's ever-shrinking global village. His experiences include all forms of fundraising, corporate sponsorship, internal & external communications efforts, media relations, strategic planning and event management. Nick has previously worked for TakingITGlobal, ReelWorld Film Festival and Higher-Edge - which has taken him on a journey through youth issues, diversity and international education.
As a member of the Net Generation, Nick spends an "unhealthy" amount of time online and plugged in, which he puts to good use experimenting with social networking and other Web 2.0 technologies. He irregularly updates a blog at unevodis.wordpress.com, and is a member of several social networks for social change. Nick currently mentors a young man in the Philippines who is establishing a learning centre in rural community.
He completed the International Baccalaureate program in 2000, and received an Honours Bachelors Degree in History and Philosophy from McGill University in 2003. An avid traveler, he has visited 19 countries and aims to bring that total up to 50. Nick divides his time between reading, writing, enjoying all forms of music, cooking and watching movies. He also trains Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing) at least 4 times a week and hopes to one day enter the ring for an amateur bout.
