Born and raised in Toronto, Amanda moved to the National Capital Region over 15 years ago and has been living in picturesque Wakefield, Quebec for the past 11 years. Amanda has a background in corporate sales with the private sector and a long history of volunteerism at both the grassroots and board levels. Her many volunteer activities have included work with the United Way, Big Sisters and the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Most recently, Amanda has focused her volunteer efforts on youth-related initiatives, including a position as Chair of the School Governing Board and Vice-President of the local Youth Centre.
Amanda is married to Marc, an archivist with the Library and Archives Canada, who is also a committed volunteer. They have 2 very energetic daughters, Molly & Charlotte, who keep them busy with activities as varied as skiing, swimming, Cub Scouts and piano. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys being at her cottage with a good book.
