| How do I send in a story idea? |
|
We are happy to receive news stories and press releases related
to the sector. If you would like to submit a news story for possible
inclusion, please review the following points:
- All news submissions should be sent to Nicole, our editor, at editor@charityvillage.com.
You can also view a list of our upcoming Cover Stories by clicking
here.
- Our favourite way to receive information is directly in the
body of an e-mail. Dazzle us with your ideas, not your layout.
Because of the number of macro viruses in circulation, we
do not accept word processing file attachments. If you must
send something as an attachment, it should be in PDF format
only.
- When assessing a news item for possible inclusion in NewsBytes,
we consider the following: relevance to the Canadian
nonprofit sector; relevance to the nonprofit sector as a whole;
timeliness; usefulness of information.
- NewsBytes typically includes information such as: timely news
affecting Canada's nonprofit sector; grant or award submission
information; new research papers or other useful publications;
new government policies affecting the sector; major donations
received; statistics related to the sector.
- If applicable, please include a web address (URL) where readers
can learn more about the information you are submitting.
- We appreciate it when organizations share their news with
us. However, space does not permit us to include all of the
stories we receive each week.
- If your submission is included in NewsBytes, you will be notified
via e-mail.
- Please do not submit information in ALL CAPITALS. Uppercase
is very difficult to read online and requires reformatting.
